Abstract
Roswita Da Silva Toti.2021, An Analysis on the Students’ Ability in Reading Short Story of the Second Grade Students of SMA Negeri 3 Kefamenanu in the School Year 2020/2021, English Study Program of Education Science Timor University. Advisors (1) Imanuel Kamlasi,S.Pd.,M.Pd and (2) Drs. Edmundus Bouk,M.Pd. This research was conducted to answer the following problems: are the students able in reading comprehension by using short stories, To what level are the students able in reading comprehension in short stories and What problems are faced by the students to mastered reading comprehension by using short stories, The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. There are fifteen (15) students of the second year students of SMA Negeri 3 Kefamenanu 2020/2021. This study used a multiple choice test type. To collect the data, the researcher calculated the students average using short story of the types of reading, and types of reading comprehension. The result of the data analysis showed that the total of An Analysis on the Students’ Ability in Reading Short Story of the Second Grade Students level is mastered and score is 80.The result showed that: 12 students are categorized excellent, 2 students is good, 1 students are enough and none is poor and bad, it means that their level of mastery is categorized excellent. Therefore, the second grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Kefamenanu in the school year 2020/2021 are able to read.
