Abstract

This study to know whether picture cards significantly the students’ vocabulary or not and find out how picture cards effective the students’ vocabulary at SMPN Kota Baru. This research. The sign of this research was quantitative method. The writer conducted in seventh grade students; the total members of the sample were 20 students as the sample of this research. Improving students vocabulary mastery by using picture card at the seventh-grade students of SMPN Kota Baru was effective by the result of the pre test and post test score below. This result of the research was found that there is significant difference between pretest and posttest. The pre test mean score 45.5 (very poor) and post test 81 (good). the degree freedom significance 5% was 1.61. it was higher than theresult of the significance difference of the post-test that was 2,28>1.61.
