Abstract

“An Analysis Students’ Difficulties in Reading Comprehension by Using Pictures of the Second Grade Students of SMPN 1 Insana in the School Year 2021/2022”. English Study Program. Main Advisor, Imanuel Kamlasi S.Pd., M.Pd and Associate Advisor, Febronia Lasi, S.Pd., M.Ed This Thesis entitled: “An Analysis Students’ Difficulties in Reading Comprehension by Using Pictures of the Second Grade Students of SMPN 1 Insana in the School Year 2021/2022”. With the statement of the problem are. What are the difficulties in reading comprehension? What are the factors of difficulties in reading comprehension?. The objectives of the study are. To know the Difficulties in reading comprehension. To know the factors at difficulties in reading comprehension. This helps to know the level of student. The test used to collect data is a multiple choice test. Based on the findings and discussion, the results of the study are that the second grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Insana in the school year 2020/2021 have difficulties in reading comprehension by using the one pictures to describe. This study focus on difficulties in reading comprehension using pictures. The researcher use qualitative descriptive method to describe the detail about the student’s difficulties in reading comprehension. To find out the result of analyze that had conducted and to describe the students’ difficulties, the instrument the researcher used in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. After that the students analyzing the data, the difficult by the student in reading comprehension namely: the difficulties to understand the word, the difficulties to understand long sentence, the difficulties in reading and difficult in question.
