Abstract

Naben, Trinita Rosadona. 2021.This study entitledAnalyses of The Students’ Speaking Ablity in Oral Presentation of the eleventh grade student of the language class in SMA Swasta Katolik Warta Bakti Kefamenanu in The School Year 2020/2021.Timor University. Main Advisor (1) Imanuel Kamlasi, S.Pd, M. Pd. and Associate Advisor (2) Drs. Edmundus Bouk, M. Pd This research was discussed about Analyses of The Students’ Speaking Ablity in Oral Presentation of the eleventh grade student of thelanguage classin SMA Swasta Katolik Warta Bakti Kefamenanu in The School Year 2021/2022.The objectives of this study were to find out the students ability in speaking of the eleven grade students of language class in SMAS Katolik Warta Bakti Kefamenanu.. The sample of this research was 20 students. The method which was used in this research was a qualitative research. In collecting the data, the writer used observation, test, recording and questionnaire. The writer used four major phases ofthe data analysis, they were; replay, listening, transcribing and analyses. The result of this research was the students have good level of achievement in speaking. They got total average 76,6. Three students got very good level of achievement with total score 98, 94 and 88 while the other seventeen students had good level of achievement with total score 64 up to 80. From the data analysis, the writer found some conclusion of students’ ability in speaking at SMAS Katolik Warta Bakti Kefameanu as follows: first,writer found that the students’ problem in speaking were: The students lack of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency and comprehends/understood English well. Second, in some case the students unconfident to speak English,fear to make mistakes when speaking, anxiety when ask them to speak up, and shy to perform in front of class.Furthermore students lack of motivation in learning English.
