Abstract

This study aimed to identify community participation in bamboo plant conservation, to analyze the impact of bamboo plant conservation on river water quality along several sub-watersheds, and to analyze bamboo plant conservation strategies along several sub-watersheds in TTU District. The method used in this study is a semi-structured interview using a questionnaire. Questionnaires were given to 25 key respondents with details for each sub-watershed, 5 respondents who live around the sub-watershed and understand the conservation of bamboo plants along the sub-watershed in TTU Regency. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that the highest level of community participation in bamboo conservation is found in the Noemuti Sub-watershed, it can be shown by the percentage of respondents' answers, 100% strongly agree. As many as 73% of respondents strongly agree that bamboo conservation affects the quality of river water along the Maubesi sub watershed. The bamboo conservation strategies carried out by the community in several sub-watersheds in TTU, generally include monitoring and protecting the existing bamboo along the sub-watersheds, cultivating bamboo plants along the sub-watersheds in TTU which contributes positively to river water quality
